On Saturday 15th November, CAAC hosted a volunteer takeover at Edinburgh parkrun and what a morning it was! Despite the cold start, the weather stayed kind, and our team of enthusiastic CAAC volunteers brought warmth, energy and encouragement to all 500+ runners making their way along the scenic Cramond course.
From timekeeping and barcode scanning to marshalling and funnel management, CAAC members filled their roles with gusto (and not just because of the promise of cake at a local CAAC household afterwards!) It was fantastic to see and hear runners comment on the supportive atmosphere created by the team.
It was the 747th edition of the Edinburgh parkrun. A huge thank you goes to every volunteer who turned up, wrapped up, and made the takeover such a success. If you’ve never volunteered at parkrun before, this was the perfect reminder that it’s just as rewarding as taking part.
