CAAC is delighted to be recruiting for two key paid roles that will help shape the future of the club:
- Community Coaching Development Officer
- Club Operations Officer
These opportunities come at a pivotal time for CAAC. After many years of outstanding service, Harry will be retiring from his Club Together Officer role in March. His work has largely been ensuring our governance meets current criteria, supporting key volunteers, keeping the club running smoothly, and helping CAAC grow to where it is today. With this transition, the club is taking a positive step forward by evolving the role structure to better meet both our community ambitions and our day-to-day operational needs.
Why two roles?
Until now, the role has been a single post of around 15 hours per week, focused largely on administration and volunteer support. As the club continues to grow, we’re now at the stage where we want to expand our community impact, while still maintaining the strong admin foundations that make everything work.
To do this, the role has been split into two complementary positions:
- Club Operations Officer – approximately 8 hours per week, focusing on club systems, administration, coordination, and volunteer support.
- Community Coaching Development Officer – approximately 12 hours per week, focused on coaching development, community engagement, and strengthening pathways into athletics.
While these are advertised as two separate roles, there is flexibility: one suitably qualified person could apply to undertake both posts if that suits their skills, availability, and interests.
About the roles
The Club Operations Officer will play a key part in strengthening our operational foundations, ensuring that the club is well positioned for long-term growth and sustainability. The postholder will focus on improving governance, administration, communication, and membership processes while supporting recruitment and engagement across the club community.
The Community Coaching Development Officer will focus on expanding the club’s reach and deepening its connection with local communities, schools, and partners. The postholder will be responsible for increasing participation across all ages and abilities, developing pathways into the club, and strengthening the coaching and volunteer base to support long-term growth. A key focus will be on community engagement, outreach, and inclusive participation, ensuring athletics opportunities are accessible to all.
Who should apply?
We’d love to hear from people who:
- Are passionate about athletics and community sport
- Enjoy working with volunteers and coaches
- Want to make a tangible difference to the future of CAAC
- Bring energy, ideas, and commitment to club development
Experience in sport development or coaching, volunteer coordination, or working with community organisations would be advantageous, but above all, you bring initiative, reliability, and enthusiasm to help the club grow and thrive.
