CAAC clear up at Kelso

It was prizes galore for Corstorphine down in the borders today for the 3rd Kelso 10K.  A lovely course through the grounds of Floors castle was challenging with some nasty wee inclines and swarms of bugs !!.  A bit of a mixed terrain effort with roads, tracks and trails on course, quite a similar run to the Thirlestane Castle run in Lauder.

Club did really well with 1st Male (keitho), 1st Female (Gillian), 1st Male Vet (Grant) and first Team (Keith,Grant, Dean, Gillian) and strong runs from Jillian Hogg and a Caac debut from Rachel Brockie. Read more »

Tomnabat

This the 4th round of the SHR Championship series was part of the Tomintoul Highland Games. Pleas for car sharing paid off as I was joined by 3 Carnethy friends for the long journey north, choosing the longer but more reliable A9 route. 3 and a bit hours later we reached the village, where parking was at a premium. On approach to the site entrance, a colourful character who looked like an 18th century itinerant was placed strategically, busking badly with an amplified violin. This Tuesday was annual Moffat festival of running but this year was special.  It was the 25th Anniversary and Grant Wilkie interrupted his family holiday to come along with the troops for his first attempt at the 15k race. Read more »

Scottish Masters T&F and U20 3000m Championships

Somewhat flying under the radar, (or too modest to report themselves) we have a couple of new Scottish Champions. Congratulations are due to Ronnie Hunter and Andy Cullen who partcipating in the Masters Championships shared the honours to finish with Ronnie taking the M45 100m title and Andy the 200m edging each other out in the other! At the same venue, Fraser Scott took 3rd place in the U20 Mens 3000m Championship.
