Gillian and I decided to enter another Islander, this time it was the Mull half Marathon. We caught the saturday lunch time ferry from Oban and stayed at the Sheilings campsite in Craignure. On a glorious day where the winds had thankfully dropped and the heat soared, DaveS, Grant, MartinC and i headed over to Fife and back and then back again. It was my first attempt at this route and i have to admit despite much debate over the actual race distance (I got it slightly short, Martin bang on a few others slightly short etc etc), i found the route to be quite tough. You were always either facing down or facing up so pacing and settling into the some rhythm was certainly a challenge. Read more »

We ended up 3rd in our division after Central (who won) and Dunfermline/West Fife. We were really close before this meeting but unfortunately loads of the kids were on holiday. Those who were there did really well. Highlights of the meeting were a storming finish by Euan in his 100m with a time of 14secs exactly, Matthew and Michael with a 1, 2  in the mile, Anthony breaking 5minutes to win his 1500 and an amazing long jump of 3m56 by Sarah who had also won her 100m in 15secs exactly.
