There's a link on Scottish Athletics homepage at the moment for Officials Courses: https://www.scottishathletics.org.uk/sign-now-officials-courses-early-2019/ It's always a challenge to ensure that the club (and often meets/leagues as a whole) are adequately attended by officials. It would be a great advantage if we were to have more qualified officials to help all of our athletes to take part in matches. I did a course earlier this year. I found it to be useful in that it helped me to understand a little more about how the sport works and why some of the rules exist. There are a lot of rules! The club can cover the cost of the course and any equipment required to officiate at matches. Volunteering as an official often ensures that you can get the best possible view of the action. If you're going to be spectating anyway, why not officiate?!
