If Ally and I haven't pestered you already, this is about the track and field league for U17-senior athletes this summer. Corstorphine AAC is fortunate enough to have a place in Division 2 of the League - you can think of it as The Championship. All U17, U20, senior and veteran male athletes can take part. There is no direct cost to you, and no requirement to commit to all, or even some, events. If you don't register before 1st April, it becomes more difficult to take part. Get your name down now and keep your options open all summer. The club's performance has been on an upward trajectory for several years as participation and the standard of our athletes' performances increase year on year. Promotion to Division 1 is a very real possibility this year.
To take part please supply your NAME, DATE OF BIRTH and SAL NUMBER as soon as possible. If we got your details last season, you're already organised to take part this season. I'm particularly interested to hear from people new to the U17 age category, field eventers and new club members.
There is a full track and field programme available in May, June and August over 4 matches. Please check scottishleague.org.uk for full details. There are past results there to give you an idea of just how variable the quality of performances are. It's not unusual to see people do 110mHurdles and 5,000m in one afternoon! We have 2 places for each event, with "guest" places available for additional athletes.
Please feel free to ask Ally or myself any questions you might have about it. Feel free to come and watch, make up the numbers for a relay, or volunteer to help out with admin and equipment just to have a peek at how it all works. I'm usually with Moray's squad on a Tuesday night and can be contacted by email, or @harrisupersonic.
