CAAC5 2017 - CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS

With just over a week to go, this is an urgent call for volunteers for this year’s CAAC5.

This years race is on Wednesday 7th June, and registration for on the day entries opens at 6.30pm. The Senior race is off at 7.30pm with the Junior race at 7.35pm. As with previous years, there will be a short briefing session at 7.00pm, giving you plenty of time to get to your position. Marshals bibs will be provided.

Attached is a map of the course indicating the Marshalling positions, and below is a list of the positions that need to be filled. Please feel free to add yourself to the list, or let me know you are available, and I will add you. Your prompt response would be appreciated!

Once allocated a position, please study the map carefully, and familiarise yourself with the locations, noting that the Marshals at positions 2, 3, 4 & 16 also need to be in place for the Junior race.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Hi John, I'm happy to marshal

Hi John, I'm happy to marshal. BC has text me to ask my mum to do registration again this year which she is happy to do. I could always give her a wee hand and then shoot on to a later on marshalling position.

Hi John,

Hi John,

Happy to help out; marshalling, or timekeeper/registration as required!

We've filled up all the

We've filled up all the spaces, so Jilly/DJ thanks for the offer, but barring last minute call off's we won't be needing you this year, and you are free to run the race!

Chris O'Brien has pointed out that we've had an unprecedented number of pre-entries this year, which is fantastic, but will inevitably bring its own challenges to the smooth running of the event. We might need a bit of extra help on the night with pre registration pick-up and perhaps placejudging, so apart from the roles included on the list above, Megan has offered to help with handing out the pre registration numbers before heading out to her Marshalling position, and Bob Innes will also be on hand to assist.

I'll need to contact some of you separately for contact details which I'll include on the Marshals Pack and email out to you.

Watch this space for any last minute changes, but I look forward to seeing you all on Wednesday for the briefing.

Hi John,

Hi John,

I won't be racing as still on the way back from injury. If any of your helpers would like to change their mind and run I'm happy to swap. Otherwise, I'll be around on the night to help/spectate as needed.

Cheers,

DJ

Hi all

Hi all

Thank you so much for volunteering for this year's CAAC5 which promises to be one of our busiest ever!.

Please check your email for your copy of the Marshals Pack which contains a map of the route and confirmation of your Marshalling position, together with contact details should you need to get in touch with anyone once out on the route.

Please study the map carefully, and familiarise yourself with the locations, noting that the Marshals at positions 2, 3, 4 & 16 also need to be in place for the Junior race.

Just to remind you, the Senior race is off at 7.30pm with the Junior race at 7.35pm. I'll go over the detail at a Marshals briefing at 7.00pm, giving you plenty of time to get to your position. Marshals bibs will be provided.

Look forward to seeing you all tomorrow night.
