The Power of CAAC now with added Female Prominence!

It was brought to my attention a while back that two of our statistics pages didn't offer a very fair representation of the beautiful half of our memberships number; ergo the male records where the superceeded the female records made it very difficult to a) find out those records and b) give the athletes a hearty well done - and have their name in lights as they deserve.

CSSAL Match 1 | Grangemouth | 12 May 2013

Our club has been developing strongly and rapidly over the last few years (the BC effect?) and not just in our top end senior athletes. I think development in the junior squads has been just as striking. Being promoted two years in a row, which was our situation this time last year, was evidence for that. But Division One was tough, every race, jump, throw and official place must be filled for us to truly compete there. I believe we'll qualify for Division one again, and I would love for it to be by winning Division Two outright. Lets see what we're capable of this year.

Saturday sees CAAC compete in the English national 12 stage Road relay championship for the second time.

Having cemented their selection for the race by coming second in the national six stage on 31st March the squad will look to build on last year's 13th place.

There will be live tweeting from Sutton Park to keep anyone who's interested updated.

The National Road Relay Championships take place on Sunday 31st March at the usual Livingston location (although I think there may have been one or two minor changes to the route) and the entries close on 18th March .

    Thursday Night Running Development group

If you're trying to get back into training after the new year, are coming back from injury or are new to club running, just a wee reminder that I will be taking a running (development) group on a Thursday night with a mixture of long runs (at a more gentle pace), hill reps, intervals, speed work and stretching.
    See you there,

    Missing vest

In the excitement of having finished the Broxburn XC I might have left my CAAC vest lying about. Did anyone pick it up?

    Carnethy '5'

I see that the C5 entries open today using a new system whereby everyone goes on a waiting list at the moment, pending confirmation in a few days time, once the online applications have been vetted. This is to avoid the near chaos of last year where all places went within an hour. So if you want to run you should enter as usual online, but no payment is required just now. This is a championship race this year, so its a golden opportunity to get an early one under the belt and close to home too, apart from continuing to be an early highlight of the hill running calendar.
